Wonderful Etosha

Etosha waterhole .jpg smallJeff one of our longer serving guides just returned from the Namibia Botswana Desert & Delta NB21 which visits the Caprivi, Etosha, Damaraland, Swakopmund, the Namib Desert, the Bushman, Okavango Delta and Chobe Game reserve. He shares a visit to Etosha in Northern Namibia.

We entered the park almost midday and had lunch after a short drive from eastern entrance to Namutoni, not much to see except a journey of 7 giraffes which clients liked. After lunch we continued on our game drive till to our first waterhole. Here we had lovely game viewing with Eland, giraffe, black faced impala, kudu, springbok, red hartebeest, Oryx and zebras all quenching their thirst. What a lovely sighting of animals together in the respect they give each other, some being disciplined for misbehaving and some doing their mid-day exercise. A great chance for clients to see the difference, in size, colour patterns and the various calls.

Moving on to the next waterhole we found a pride of eight lions scattered around the area with the antelope waiting and some making their way to drink while the others are on a lookout and watching them run away whenever there was a slight movement made by the lions, that is an experience on its own.

Apart from at the waterholes we also had a lovely game drive to our camp in Halali, we saw three lazy cheetahs, a bachelor herd of huge Etosha elephants, a breading herds of springbok, Oryx, red hartebeest, wildebeest and zebras, all in all a successful game drive.
