The Amazing Wild Coast

Sunway South Africa Kei Mouth Benmore Lodge Carri-Ann Botha 23 smallPatrick one of German guides returned form a South Africa Rainbow Route SAa17 with the following to share with all of us...I’ve recently returned from my South Africa rainbow route which was a really nice chilled tour with a nice group mixture aging from 25 to 65 with a great understanding for each other. We enjoyed all of our past days, and obviously all the following ones as well. We’ve had rain in the Drakensberg and in the Kruger National Park as well. So we were enjoying the sunny day that the Wild coast was offering us on our day of arrival there.

After a last, long days drive from the Southern Drakensberg to the Wild Coast we arrived well at Benmore Lodge, a lovely small guest house with amazing raised wooden Chalets with
great views. The guests moved into their new homes and Moses and I started our dinner plans immediately. I was in charge for the Prawns curry, Salad, sweetened carrot and spicy green
beans in the Kitchen while Moses was fighting outside with the elements to braai the delicious fish. I can tell you dinner was a definitive success! A nice and long resting period followed until the next morning.

This morning, after a healthy breakfast, we made our way to the Coast which is only 4 km away from Benmore Lodge. So after driving 10 minutes we were dropped at the coast and
started our coastal walk which starts at Kei Mouth along the coast to Morgan Bay. We enjoyed the sea stars, snails, mussels and fish that we discovered while hopping from rock to rock.
It was a beautiful morning until we reached halfway to Morgan bay.

We have already noticed the humidity pulling in from the ocean, and by the time we reached our goal, Morgan bay was
completely covered in Fog. We still enjoyed the weather as the scorching sun disappeared in the fog, blocking all the heat from coming through. We still had an awesome, sun burn free
time at Morgan bay, chilling at the Morgan Bay Hotel, sipping on hot beverages, or as some guests sipping some cocktails.
