Guidelines taught to a Guide about Guiding

Sunway Botswana Moremi campsite2Jacques, Farai and trainee guide Colin just returned from Colin's first "Botswana Wildside" BT14 and Colin had the below to share.

A few days of feeling nervous before tour that were put to rest by extremely friendly, patient and joyful colleagues showing me the ropes about a whole new world I was about to embark into.

Most of the tour was held in the beautiful country of Botswana where one begins to feel the magic of Africa seep into your awareness, being treated to absolutely breath taking views and mind blowing Sunrise/Sunsets. Not to mention the fantastic animal sightings that we had, one in particular being of a beautiful female leopard on a kill located only but a stones throw away from our vehicle.

The opportunity to meet new people from all over the world and getting to know people was a great experience on its own. Teaching people about my culture, wildlife, and new places as well as having the privilege to learn about their culture and personal experiences is amazing. Spending time with the more senior guides that are familiar with the industry was a gigantic help, and boost, to my guiding career as a whole through everything that they had shown and taught, as well as all the fond memories they have given me.

The tour with Sunway Safaris is an experience I will never forget and I highly encourage anyone who may be interested to take the chance to go on one of the many tours on offer.
