FARAI BIKAUSARU

Meet Farai Bikausaru - he is a proudly Zimbabwean-born, Southern Africa Field Guide. He grew up in the bustling tourist town of Kariba (onthe shores of the very famous Lake Kariba), surrounded by the beauty of nature and fabulous African landscapes.

Farai studied for his Field Guide course in 2012 with the Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority of Zimbabwe.

Farai knew from childhood that he wanted to work in Field Guiding, being driven by the zeal to conserve, preserve and share Africa's beautiful wildlife, people and diverse culture.

Not one to sit idly by, he is currently still studying towards his full professional course. He believes that the little things in life make all the difference and and this sparked his love of insects!

His other hobbies includes walking, fishing and movie watching.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Seeing the animals at very very close quarters, led by very knowledgeable guides.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Just do it - it is fabulous.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes. We camped for 2 days with the dugout canoe poles and they were effusive about the benefits to their community. All the guides were very environmentally conscientious in everything they did. Lots of the explanations were about ecology and conservation.

Best holiday we have ever had. It was an amazing experience

SOUTH AFRICA RAINBOW ROUTE: "It is very important for us to contact you in regards to the Rainbow route we have just finished. We had a really wonderful great time on your Tour. Everything was excellent from the accommodation to the programme, your vehicle and perfect guides. They both are totally qualified persons and worked very well together. It’s my 3 trip with your agency and I am still surprised and satisfied how good your product is and will recommend to all our friends. Sfiso is a great, Pavarotti´Opern singer which we enjoyed very much. His voice made our holiday very relaxing and Farai was always so interested by us, always helpful and friendly And he always made the most delicious dinner. Every meal was something new from different chicken menus homemade bread and great game meat always with fresh vegetables. NAMIBIA & BOTSWANA SOUTHERN CIRCLE: "Hello everybody! My parents and I took part in the accommodated tour "21 days Zambia, Namibia and Botswana". It was our first trip to Africa and till now our biggest journey considering the time. So we were really nervous. Besides my parents started to learn English just a few months before. So they were more excited. But then we met our guides Greg and Farai. And all our worries and doubt were gone. Greg an Farai are both wonderful persons with their passion for their job, their countries and their amazing knowledge of animals. To have such employees is a great fortune. Both are worth their weight in gold.

The tour itself was awesome. The variety of animals we saw. The different landscapes. Every day was better than the day before. We can´t find words for the overwhelming impressions. Thank you that you choose that route. And especially for the accommodations you found. Oh my....one more beautiful than the other. And not to forget the Okavango-Delta. Beyond words. You see us totally happy!.... and sad that we had to leave africa. We could have stayed longer. My parents and I say thank you for everything. And I hope to return soon to Africa.
