TOUR OF THE MONTH: For the month of March we are heading to Namibia and the Namibia Botswana southern Circle NBa21. This is an accommodated adventure safari starting in Livingstone, Zambia with the mighty Victoria Falls and visits the Zambezi Region (formally know as the Caprivi Strip), Etosha National Park, Damaraland, Swakopmund, the Namib Desert, Windhoek, the Okavango Delta and so much more.
This is one of our most popular tours! You can do the full tour of 21 days OR if you are a little short of time, you can finish the tour in Windhoek making it just 15 days. Imagine the contrasting landscapes of Namibia with lush Okavango Delta. If you're a camper, then we have this same tour available as a camping safari - Namibia and Botswana Desert & Delta NB21
In 2015 we had a very keen birder Richard Stansfield on this tour and he managed to clock in record of 226 bird species!! See our blog to see a few of the pictures taken.

SUNWAY UPDATE: - Okavango Delta upgrade on accommodated tour
We're giving you a little more comfort when visiting a must see in Africa, the Okavango Delta.
The Okavango Delta was declared the 1000th UNESCO World Heritage site, in February 2013. This truly unique and special destination is also one of the 7 Natural Wonders of Africa. It is part of the endorheic depression found in the Kalahari Desert that floods annually with waters from the Angolan Highlands. Home to over 400 bird species, 71 fish species and numerous mammals it truly is a must see destination when visiting Botswana. These tents are larger than our standard camping tents and come equipped with stretchers, camp mattresses and pillows with linen. We have four different accommodated tours that visit the Okavango Delta the CVa21, NBa21, ZBa16 and BTa14. The camp will already be set up when you arrive and will still have the communal shower with hot water off the fire. ...
GET TO KNOW THE SUNWAY TEAM:
Cronje Rademan was born and raised in Pretoria, South Africa. With a growing passion for nature he decided to study Nature Conservation at Pretoria Tech.
Cronje began his career in Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park as a game ranger, he then worked at private nature reserves and game lodges in the Dinokeng area North of Pretoria for 4 years as reserve manager.
Cronje is passionate about anti-poaching as well as animal and reptile rescue. But what he loves most is educating people about Southern Africa’s flora and fauna.
Cronje joined Sunway Safaris to increase and grow his knowledge as a tour guide on the small group, camping and accommodated safaris. His hobbies include: bird watching, photography, fishing, herpetology (the study of reptiles and amphibians).
If you have travelled with Cronje and have something to add to his story with some great feedback, we would love to hear from you and add it to his Sunway profile.
PHOTO OF THE MONTH COMPETITION:
There is so much truth in the cliché “A photo speaks a thousand words”. We are always interested in the pictures you take while on tour with us. We love seeing Southern Africa through your eyes.
So, we are introducing our Photo of the Month competition. Please send us your favourite pictures from tour with your story about why you love the image/s and we may just feature your image right here in our newsletter with your story.
The monthly winners will go into a competition where we announce 1 winner at the end of March 2017. The winner will receive a beautiful coffee table book on Southern Africa.
This above picture was taken by Alexandra Peyer, German guide at Sunway Safaris. The elephant half submerged eating the floating grass was taken on the Chobe River whilst on a boat cruise .
The boat cruise is an absolute highlight for clients and it is always included if your tour is going to Chobe National Park.
The Chobe area is renown for its elephant and buffalo herds coming down to the Chobe River, particularly in the late afternoon. There is nothing more captivating than watching a herd of elephant come down to drink, swim, eat and play in the Chobe River.
How to enter: If you have photos you would like to submit for the competition or our blog or even social media please send to Dirk on This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
