17% of the country is protected as National Parks and Game Reserves and offers diversity in habitat, wildlife and birds. The Kalahari Desert, the Makgadikgadi Pans, Moremi Game Reserve, Chobe National Park and The Okavango Delta , the worlds 1000th World Heritage site, are just a few of the highlights of Botswana and they are such contrasting landscapes!

The country is rich in biodiversity with 593 bird species, 164 mammal species, 71 Fish species in the Okavango Delta and over 2500 species of plant and 650 tree species.
