In July 2019 Paulo and Maxwell enjoyed a Windhoek to Victoria Falls Elephant Track 15 day classic departure (WVac15). They had amazing sightings while in Etosha, here is what Paulo had to say.
Our classic tour is making us visit the wonderful Etosha National Park. Etosha National Park in Namibia is a success story in term of black rhino conservation. It is the biggest black rhino sanctuary in the whole of Africa with over 400 individuals. This protected area is home of the South Western subspecies of black rhino (Diceros bicornis ssp. bicornis).
Adolf and Sonja have just returned from a Private ZMa16 Zambia & Malawi Livingstone Trail and Sonja had the below to share, in her own words, after her first trip down the Mighty Zambezi and Kafue Rivers.
Our first big adventure on this tour was a canoe trip on the Kafue and Zambezi River. Just arrived at the Gwabi River Lodge each of us got a white bucket to put the valuables in we wanted to take with us in the canoe the next day. After a leisurely breakfast at the lodge and the safety briefing of our river guide we were ready to go! The first 6 km on the smaller Kafue River was a good training to get used to the canoe before we entered the mighty Zambezi! Africa’s 4th largest River.
Zandre having returned from a MZe20 Zimbabwe, Zambia and Malawi expedition trip had a wonderful experience and has the following recipe for you to try out at home.
I’ve always enjoyed a challenge and I try something new on every tour I do. Even if I don’t have too much of a sweet tooth I decided on a chocolate cake. This is a definite winner and could earn you those extra “brownie” points on any camping trip anywhere in the world. It had been a last minute decision so I was briefly prepared and did not have an icing or caramel sauce to cover. But it came out perfect none the less.
Jacques and Edwin just returned form a Zimbabwe Botswana ZB16 Game Trail camping trip and had a wonderful time at Matopos National Park with great sightings of Rhino on foot and an awe insiring visit to the bushman paintings and Worlds View both found in the park. The Matobo or Matopos Hills are an area of granite kopjes and wooded valleys commencing some 35 kilometres south of Bulawayo, southern Zimbabwe. The Hills were formed over 2000 million years ago with granite being forced to the surface, this has eroded to produce smooth "whaleback dwalas" and broken kopjes, strewn with boulders and interspersed with thickets of vegetation.
