A Leopard in a tree eating impala, a leopard sitting on the log on the road side, two lions on the savannah and hundreds of buffalos in the Botswana game parks.
I (Wayne) just returned from the Botswana Wild side BT14 camping tour that visits the Moremi game reserve Savuti and Chobe national parks in Botswana.
Natascha one of our agents based in Kempton Germany recently did our Botswana Wild Side BT14 camping tour and had the following to share with us. Having lunch with the elephants, watching the sunset with the Hippos and fall asleep next to honey badgers and hyenas – if that is what you have ever wanted you should go on this tour. Botswana is just amazing. Being so close to the wildlife, seeing elephants wild and free, crossing the slow streams in the Okavango Delta while you are sitting next to them in a Mokoro – it’s just magical. Seeing zebras and giraffes peacefully in the bush, Lion cubs playing inside an almost eaten up buffalo and a leopard trying to eat a porcupine make you feel like you have just got into one of the beautiful BBC documentaries.
Having just returned from Botswana and Planet Okavango’s Pre-BTTE agents fam trip I (Dirk) had to share on this experience. Waiting at the Maun International airport for my agents to arrive I started to get really excited as I was going on my second helicopter flight. We organised that myself and the 5 agents would in 2 separate flights be transferred into the Okavango Delta to meet Bruce for our first evening in the wilds of the African bush. Stepan, Natasha and Jenny took the first flight whilst myself Rosy and Ellen waited eagerly at the airport for the helicopter to return. When the assistant came to collect us the heart started to beat a little faster in anticipation for the flight. We were taken by vehicle to the helicopter pad and loaded into our helicopter and the adventure started.
Leaving Maun by air you realise how big Maun has grown over the years. I still remember travelling to Maun for the first time many years ago and how you travelled on a dirt road from Nata to Maun. Now there are even a few robots in Maun!
Wouter our guide from the Netherlands who conducts German tours for Sunway had the following experience in the Greater Kruger National Park and had this to share... On my most recent Walking South Africa JJa14, a hiking tour through South Africa and Swaziland with 11 clients from Switzerland and Germany, we had the most incredible encounter with a wild Leopard. It all happened on a game drive in Balule Game Reserve, close to Kruger National Park.
