Amazing Khwai

GG 1 smallGrace and Gee just returned from a Botswana Wild Parks BTa14 and spent a few days in the Khwai/Moremi and had the following to share. After 2 nights wild camping in the delta we travelled in an open 4x4 vehicle through Moremi Game Reserve on to Tau Camp situated in Khwai Private Reserve. It is quite a drive from Maun to Tau Camp, but oh what a beautiful drive! We saw so many different mammal species but the landscape too is stunning.

Rediscover Zimbabwe

Victor 1 smallFor myself (Victor) and Phumi Zimbabwe is our homeland where all great things in our lives have been defined. On this particular tour (Zimbabwe Botswana ZBa16) the Jewel of Africa had a full package of surprises for us and the amazing 11 Adventurers we had. From dynamics of culture, history pristine beauty of the land and incredible African mammals and birds.
On route to Kruger National Park into the Blyde River escarpment, lady luck followed us through with an amazing sighting of the Black eagle in background of lush green Eucalyptus and pine forests. Kruger National Park offered the opportunity to meet a female herd of African Elephants, with more than 6 calves in tow. The majestic creatures were grazing on the sweet grasses, a clear sign of availability of good pasture as the dry winter dawns in to the southern hemisphere. Elephants being bulk grazers can afford to eat from grass to mopane leaves and tree bark. This amazing sighting gobbled a precious half of an hour as they perused through the veld and reconstructed the mopane bushveld.

Wild nights in the Savuti

Savuti 1 smallWhen it comes to experiencing Africa’s nature and wildlife from close by on a safari, there are none, or very few places, that are comparable to Savuti, northern Botswana. Wouter just returned from Botswana and had the following to share with us. The wilderness of Savuti is best witnessed when doing a guided camping trip and staying overnight. Having worked for Sunway Safaris for over 4 years now, I (Wouter) have spent many nights camping in wildlife areas with no fences or protection around, and I always really enjoy that.
