With heartfelt gratitude, we are thrilled to share a remarkable milestone achieved through the unwavering support of the Sunway Safaris family. Together, we have provided the brave rangers of the Matobo Rhino Trust with essential equipment to enhance their safety and effectiveness in the field.
Equipping Rangers for Success
EUR 2,200 for Technical Field Boots
Patrolling rugged terrain requires specialized footwear. Thanks to generous contributions, the rangers now have durable, comfortable, and waterproof Jim Green AR8 boots. Sourced directly from Jim Green at a substantial discount, these boots ensure our rangers are fully prepared and protected during their vital patrols.
EUR 1,500 for Hydration Backpacks
Long patrols and intense pursuits demand reliable access to water. The hydration backpacks provided guarantee that rangers stay hydrated and alert, even during the hottest days, allowing them to continue protecting wildlife without compromise.
EUR 2,000 for Binoculars
Effective wildlife monitoring and anti-poaching patrols rely on keen observation. The binoculars supplied to the Matobo Rhino Trust allow rangers to spot threats and monitor rhino movements from a safe distance, improving both safety and operational efficiency. This vital equipment strengthens their ability to detect and respond to poaching activity and ensures that rhinos and other wildlife remain protected.

Thank You for Making a Difference
To everyone who contributed: your generosity empowers those on the front lines of wildlife conservation. Together, we are making tangible progress in protecting endangered rhinos and preserving our natural heritage. This achievement would not have been possible without your support.

Sunway Safaris Tours Supporting Conservation in the Matobo Hills
Our conservation success is deeply connected to the Sunway Safaris tours that visit the iconic Matobo Hills, a UNESCO World Heritage site renowned for its dramatic granite formations, ancient rock art, and rich wildlife. Guests on immersive tours such as ZBa16 (Zimbabwe Botswana Game Tracker), BZac15 (Botswana and Zimbabwe Ivory Route), ZB16 (Zimbabwe Game Trail), ZZ15 (Zambi & Zimbabwe Ancient Pathways), and NZa21 (Namibia, Botswana & Zimbabwe Dunes to Falls) play a direct and meaningful role in supporting the Matobo Rhino Trust.
By joining these small-group, guided safaris, travellers do more than witness breathtaking scenery and encounter wildlife in their natural habitat—they actively contribute to the protection of endangered rhinos and the preservation of the Matobo ecosystem. Each tour includes visits to areas where the trust conducts its anti-poaching patrols, providing opportunities for guests to learn about rangers’ vital work, the challenges of wildlife conservation, and how responsible tourism supports these efforts.

From hiking through rugged hills to observing wildlife on guided game drives, every step taken on a Sunway Safaris tour strengthens the capacity of rangers in the field. Your participation helps fund equipment such as technical field boots, hydration packs, and essential patrol gear, ensuring that the Matobo Rhino Trust can continue its mission to protect rhinos and safeguard biodiversity for future generations.
Together with our guests, guides, and partners, we celebrate a shared commitment to wildlife conservation, responsible travel, and the enduring protection of Southern Africa’s natural heritage. By choosing a Sunway Safaris tour, you are not only exploring some of Africa’s most spectacular landscapes—you are making a tangible difference in the survival of one of the continent’s most iconic species.
